LINE COOK

Line Cook will be responsible for final preparation, execution and plating of meals based on the chef's instructions, including preparing, seasoning, and cooking dishes such as eggs, meats, vegetables, or bakery items. Line Cook washes and sanitizes kitchen equipment. They also clean their station and put away equipment at the end of their shift. Line cook ensures that the kitchen operates in accordance with food safety standards and regulations. They also ensure that ingredients and products are fresh and of high quality. Line cooks work with servers to ensure that orders are completed on time and to the customer's request; may have to expedite multiple orders. Line cooks may assist the chef de cuisine and sous chef with daily tasks. May need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday.
No education or prior work experience is required and on the job training is offered at not cost to the worker. Workers will be paid at a rate of $21.52 per hour regular time with overtime paid at a rate of $32.28 per hour if applicable. Workers will be paid at least once every two weeks. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 p/day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 p/day with receipts. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Employer will use a single workweek as its base for computing wages due. H-2B workers will be provided with reimbursement by company check during the first workweek for visa, visa processing and related costs, except passport costs. All deductions required by law will be deducted each pay period. If housing is provided by employer, employee cost for housing is $200.00 per pay period and is paid directly by employee to employer each pay period. Housing is optional. Transportation is not provided to worksite.
